Jens Siegert: The “Russian March”, Navalny and the (liberal) opposition

On 4 November the so-called “Russian March” took place in Moscow, as it has every year since 2005. Organised by various Russian nationalist groups, it marked “The Day of National Unity”, a national holiday. It was actually Putin who dug up the 4th November in the mid-2000s in an attempt to supplant the anniversary of the October Revolution, celebrated on November 7th.
