The prosecutions of those detained in the “Bolotnaya affair” are going full steam ahead. These individuals have already been kept in pre-trial detention centres illegally for several months, and they will remain there yet longer. They are facing a political trial designed to make an example of them, and if civil society in Russia continues in the same passive mode, they will be sentenced to many years in prison. Let's name all those who, against all legality and common sense, have been accused of mass riots: Vladimir Akimenkov, Andrey Barabanov, Yaroslav Belousov, Stepan Zimin, Nikolay Kavkazsky, Leonid Kovyazin, Mikhail Kosenko, Sergey Krivov, Denis Lutskevich, Aleksey Polikhovich and Artem Savelov. [Read more]
