Recently there was the first anniversary of the terrible tragedy in the city of Zhanaozen in Kazakhstan, where dozens of peaceful demonstrators, and even people not involved at all in the protest but who just “got in the way”, were shot dead by police after an initial shooting that was staged by the police themselves. Afterwards, the strike movement and the opposition were suppressed with great severity. Unfortunately, it was only recently that I discovered a video recording which shows quite clearly (1:48) how the first provocative shot by a police officer set off the mass shooting. [Read more]
