It is not just the general public that struggles to imagine the extent to which the system is prepared for real repression on a large scale; the same applies to several civic activists, despite being generally familiar with the regime’s dirty tricks. But since in this bureaucratic state any decision, even those taken in secret, quickly becomes weighed down with a large number of supporting and other associated documentation, a few fragments will always come to light.
