Sentence given to Moscow unauthorized rally participant takes effect
The Moscow City Court had upheld a sentence given to Yuri Kuliy, who is to spend 8 months in a penal colony for attacking a police officer at the unauthorized rally in Moscow on March 26, RAPSI learnt at the court’s press office on Monday. By its decision, the court dismissed an appeal against an earlier ruling of the Moscow Tverskoy District Court. Russian Ministry of Justice proposes to extend jury trials to more cases
The Russian Ministry of Justice has prepared a bill envisaging a wider use of the jury trial institution, the document published on its official website reads on Monday. The bill introduces changes to the Criminal Procedural Code of Russia aimed to implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court regarding the cases in the framework of which the most severe punishments would not envisage a life imprisonment or death penalty. 40 people come to picket "Shame to Rosgvardia!" in Rostov-on-Don
A picket in defence of those detained during anti-corruption actions on March 26 and June 12 in Russia was held today in Rostov-on-Don. The today's event in the Builders' Park was organized by activists of "The Open Russia" movement jointly with Alexei Navalny's election office in Rostov-on-Don. The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 27 and on June 12, many cities of Russia, including in the south of the country, hosted actions of opposition leader Alexei Navalny's supporters. Rostov-on-Don housing shareholders state authorities are not ready for dialogue
The rally of shareholders of six unfinished housing objects in Rostov-on-Don was, according to organizers, about 200 people strong. They demanded from regional authorities to complete the construction or to return the invested money. In June, Rostov residents filmed a video appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a complaint about the inaction of local authorities and a request to solve the problem of unfinished construction. Residents of Nalchik oppose erection of monument to Kalmykov
40 people in Nalchik went out to a rally against the installation in the city of a monument to Betal Kalmykov, the first secretary of the regional committee of the VKP(b) (All-Russian Bolshevik Communist Party). They demanded not to return the monument to the pedestal after restoration, and offered to exclude it from the register of cultural heritage objects. The rally was organized by the Association of Victims of Political Repressions, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
