There has been a yet more scandalous development in the conflict between the Investigative Committee of Russia and the General Prosecutor’s Office over the high-profile criminal investigation into underground gambling in the region outside Moscow city. Yesterday in Serpukhovsky city court, during an appeal against the decision by Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office to close a second crimninal investigation into businessman Ivan Nazrov, the evidence of a witness for the investigators who had been given anonymity was heard. From this testimony it follows that the people who acted as the coordinating link between staff of the Prosecutor’s Office and businessman Ivan Nazarov (who was organizing the underground gambling business), were close associates and subordinates of Artem Chaika, son of Prosecutor General Yury Chaika.
