11 November 2010
The BEARR Trust Annual Conference on 19 November this year is on the theme of "Young People in Trouble". This covers all aspects of teenage and youth behaviour which are likely to bring young people up against the law, how they are handled by the judicial system, and what can be done by NGOs and others to deal with, deflect or mitigate such behaviour. Keynote speakers are Dr Mary McAuley (King's, London) and Dr Boris Altschuler (Rights of the Child, Moscow). Other contributors come from Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and Russia. The programme is attached, together with the booking form. Please book now to secure your place. And pass on this information to anyone you know who might be interested. The programme and booking form are also available on the BEARR website at http://www.bearr.org/en/event/conf/2010. The September 2010 issue of the BEARR Newsletter is also now available at http://www.bearr.org/en/newsletter/55/September_2010. This has a feature on The Elderly in the CIS; several articles focusing on the Caucasus republics; and numerous reports of projects funded through the BEARR Small Grants Scheme.
