The European Pro Bono Forum is a unique international networking event that brings together commercial lawyers and representatives of non-profit organizations and NGOs who together seek to increase access to justice for society's most vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Now in its fourth year, the 2010 Forum will include a variety of workshops and plenaries that will focus on using pro bono -- or volunteer legal assistance -- to combat poverty and social exclusion and protect human rights and the environment, among other issues. The Forum will also include special sessions examining the role of European bars, law societies and law schools in promoting an ethic of volunteerism and pro bono values.

NGO representatives will have the opportunity to meet face to face with lawyers and present their work and legal challenges during the NGO Marketplace.

Notable speakers include Jean Castelain, Head of the Paris Bar; Aryeh Neier, President of the Open Society Institute; and Martin Hirsch, President of the Agence du Service Civique, among others. For the full agenda, visit http://www.probonolawyer.eu/.

PILI is also pleased to announce that the Forum has been approved as continuous training by the Association of the French- and German-speaking Bar of Belgium (OGBF) and the ad hoc institute of the Paris Bar. CPD points are also available from the Law Society of Ireland.

Due to the immense popularity of this event, space is now limited to 30 remaining registrants. Register today at http://www.probonolawyer.eu/.

Discounted rates are available for NGO representatives, solo practitioners, and lawyers working at firms employing fewer than 200 lawyers (in all offices).
