On March 3rd, 2011 at 11.00 a.m., the next court hearing in the trial against Oleg Orlov, head of "Memorial" Human Rights Center's Board, will take place in the court district № 363 of Moscow's Khamovniki district (1905 year street, 4, bld. 1).
The hearing, that should have taken place on February 8, was however postponed due to the judge's disease. Today February 28, the court informed that the judge is now in a good health and that the hearing will take place on March 3rd. During the hearing some of the defense's written documents will be examined and Oleg Orlov, the defendant, interrogated. The aggrieved party, Ramzan Kadyrov, will also be interrogated if he appears before the court. His representative Andrey Krasnenkov said: "More than anything, Kadyrov is a law-abiding citizen who does not oppose himself to the federal legal authorities and that's why not taking part in the legal process is impossible for him" (interfax.ru). Comments of HRC "Memorial" on past hearings, full transcriptions of these, as well as other materials on criminal and civil cases can be found on the HRC "Memorial" website http://www.memo.ru/2009/11/03/sudeng.html (in English).
