7 October 2010 - Rallies in Memory of Anna Politkovskaya

Four years ago in the entrance hall of the apartment building where she lived on Lesnaya Street, Anna Politkovskaya was murdered. Those who killed her and those who ordered her killing are still at large.

A rally in her memory will take place at Chistye Prudy metro station. It will begin at exactly 16.03. Participants in the rally will include: Sergei Kovalev, Aleksei Simonov, Ludmila Alekseeva, Oleg Orlov, Tatiana Lokshina, Grigory Yavlinsky, Lev Ponomarev, Boris Nemtsov, Sergei Yursky, Liya Akhedzhakova. The holding of the rally has been agreed with the authorities.
St. Petersburg
On 7 October 2010 the Yabloko Party (St. Petersburg), Memorial, United Civic Front and the Solidarity Movement will hold a demonstration to mark the anniversary of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya. The demonstration will start at 19.00 at the Solovetsky Stone on Troitskaya Square (Gorkovskaya metro station). The event has the agreement of the city authorities.
