On 17 March a court in Tula region refused parole to Stepan Zimin, convicted in what Amnesty International called a 'show trial' and sentenced to 3.5 years in a penal colony in connection with the May 2012 protest on Bolotnaya Square. He is due to be released on 8 December 2015.

On 21 February 2014 Amnesty International called for the immediate release of Stepan Zimin and other 'Bolotnaya Square' prisoners.
