Golos on the Elections

Golos has studied the websites of regional electoral commissions and found that, in violation of the law, they do not allow citizens to contact them electronically. Continuing this issue, Golos coordinator Anton Sheinin asks why the Central Electoral Commission has not enabled a means of communication that is prescribed by law?

We have brought together everything we could find out about the referendums held in Tatarstan on 19 October in one substantial report.

In addition, Golos took part in a seminar of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE on the role of technology in elections.

Last Sunday elections were held in nine regions. In Yakutiya, United Russia lost in two elections, while a candidate from the LDPR was elected head of a village in Khakassia. For more details, see our weekly report.

Next Sunday, activists from Golos will travel to monitor elections in Rostov-on-Don and Altai region. We shall report all they see in an account of the day's voting.
