I am afraid to say I no longer have enough time for poetry or creative literature. I have once again been leafing through The Captive Mind by Czeslaw Milosz. It is a wonderful book about how easy it is to impose things on people that they do not want. Nobel Laureate Milosz wrote it in the years 1951-1953. It is about the People's Democracies and the Soviet Union. However, it concerns all tyrannies - Hitler, Stalin. It is about what becomes of the impoverished intellectual in a totalitarian state.
