The vitality of a protest movement is defined by the extent it is able to attract mass participation. This is true because a protest can never die out completely, since if it does not flare up into a movement with millions of participants then it will inevitably smoulder in thousands and hundreds, and in the most extreme cases ones and twos. A solo protest is also something that should be respected but it is not going to defeat the dragon that we face today. So this means that the number of people that go out and protest is a very important indicator. [Read more]
