On 23 May the court in Berezniki refused to grant Maria Alekhina parole 

In the year Maria Alekhina has spent in prison she has gone from being a timid first-time convict to a confident prison inmate. I saw her together with her friends the day before her arrest, when they were on the wanted list. They didn't display any panic, but just like any normal person they were scared of the unknown prison life and asked "What's it like there?" Then I saw them in court in Khamovniki and in the Moscow City Court. They passionately declared their innocence and Masha Alekhina was especially vehement and uncompromising in her attitude to judicial tyranny.
